Mayi lives in Kampala, Uganda. She is married with six children, and all her children go to school. She also takes care of two additional family members (her aunt’s daughter and two orphans). She lives in her own house, and the family has access to piped water and electricity. Her monthly expenses include school fees and food.
Mayi sells Airtime in a shop that she rents. She has been in this business for the last 10 years. She works six days a week. She has requested a loan of Uganda shillings 2,000,000 from MCDT – SACCO to buy jewelry and Airtime.
Her major business challenges are transportation and seasonality. Her goals and aspirations are to educate her children to university level and to become a wholesaler of Airtime.
