A loan of $5,500 helped a member to buy fish and other food products for resale.

Apec Al Ouma Groupe 1's story

Apec Al Ouma Groupe 1, a subgroup of the association Apec Al Ouma, is comprised of 10 women who live in the same Senegalese village community. They are involved in a variety of different businesses. They have already repaid a previous loan.

They are represented by Ndiapaly (whose hand is raised in the photo). She has been in business for 20 years selling fish and other food products in the area where she lives.

Her business brings in profits that allow her to take care of her family's living expenses. She starts work each day at 6 am and returns home at 5 pm.

She is requesting this loan in order to increase her working capital so she can procure fish and other food products that she needs for her business. She hopes to become a major importer of the products she sells.

In this group: Ndiapaly, Khardiata, Calmy, Magatte G, Oureye, Khady, Adama, Ndeye, Ndethiou, Aissata
