A loan of $300 helped to purchase bike parts to sell.

Saibou's story

Born around 1980 in Diomana, Mr. Saibou lives with his five children and their mother in a traditional family in Diomana. Not having had the chance to advance in school, Mr. Saibou quickly became interested in revenue-generating businesses, especially in repairing bicycles and motorbikes and in the buying and selling of replacement parts for bikes and 'motos'. He is much in demand and appreciated in and around Diomana.

Bestowed with five years of experience in this domain, Mr. Saibou decided to collaborate with the microfinance institution Soro Yiriwaso in his search for financial resources. He is now on his first loan.

He intends to use his loan to purchase 2 large cases of different kinds of spare parts for motorbikes from wholesale merchants in Koumantou. He makes his sales retail, accepting cash or credit at the Diomana market. His customer base is composed of men and women.

Mr. Saibou hopes to make a monthly profit of 60,000 francs CFA that will be used to meet family needs, repay the loan, and reinvest in his business.
