A loan of $925 helped a member to buy fertilizer for her farmland.

Nhean's Group's story

Living in a wooden house in a rural area of Pursat province's Kror Kor district, Nhean is the head of a family blessed with three children. Two of her three kids are living with her and also help her to generate income for the family through assisting with the family business of producing sugar from sugar palm trees for resale. Her rice cropping business, which she has been in for several years, earns her almost 17,000 Cambodian riels (KHR) per day.

This is the third loan cycle for Nhean with Kiva's partner VisionFund. She has succeeded in paying back the entire past loans, and they have gradually provided better support toward her business.

Now, in a group composed of four female members, she is a group leader. The other three members in her group are also third-cycle loan clients.

For Nhean, she will use her loan portion to buy fertilizer for her farmland. She expects to boost her rice farm in a timely manner so she can multiply her income and attain good living conditions.
