A loan of $1,200 helped to buy chickens and pigs.

Digna Rosario's story

For 2 years, Digna has been a part of the communal bank, Pauteñitas.

She lives in the surrounding area of the canton of Paute, a place that has a mild climate. The climate brings about a large variety of fruits and is good for the plant-life where they grow some of the most beautiful flowers. The people of Paute are friendly and cordial. They make a living in agriculture, animal husbandry, and commerce.

Digna, 47, is married from which she has one adult child. Her husband is a merchant, and the house they live in is a result of their sacrifice.

She makes a living raising pigs, guinea pigs, and cattle from which they sell milk. She also works in agriculture; she sells some of her crops and grows some for her family's consumption. On the weekends, she cooks and sells traditional dishes like fried pork.

Her new loan will be invested in the purchase of chickens and pigs to continue breeding those animals.

Her goal is to complete some finishing touches on her home.
