Leonor's story

Leonor, 62, is an honest, responsible, and hard-working. She has lived with José, her husband, for 42 years. They have 6 adult children. She lives in her own house and shares her days with her husband working day by day.

Leonor's work involves creating jewelry from gold and silver. She has a workshop located in her house where she assembles the customer's hand-picked jewels into hand-made jewelry. She has a lot of patience which helps her accentuate the detail required in each piece. On certain occasions, she made special parts created for her own customers jewelry.

In addition, she repairs watches, does engraving, and performs mounting for rings. Her work is done with the help of her husband. She has been in this field for 40 years and it treats her well.

She also has a motorcycle taxi that she rents out daily. She has been in this business for 10 years, but currently the motorcycle is not working properly due to its age.

What she likes about her jobs is the freedom she feels in designing jewelry. She likes seeing the final product and the beauty in each of the pieces she made by hand. She also likes sharing and developing this passion with her husband. This motivated her to continue forward.

She soon hopes to install a workshop to continue working and produce better results.

This is her second loan with MFP. She is happy to know that they are offering a line of credit to improve upon her business. For this reason, she promises to be responsible with her payments to continue into the future. She feels strongly about and likes her communal bank because she considers them to be a responsible and united group.

With the amount asked, 1000 nuevos soles, she will buy spare watch parts, tools to be used in making jewelry, and specific motorcycle parts to have it in working order.
