A loan of $200 helped to buy fungicides for her plants.

Maria's story

María, age 27, is a hardworking woman. She lives with her partner Hernán, age 33, together with their two beloved children. They live in their own home which is made of wood.

María works the land to grow coffee plants; she's been doing this work together with her partner for more than seven years, and she says that during harvesting periods she always counts on the support of day laborers. María and her partner are always taking care of their plants, because their crop always pays good earnings. However, sometimes it's difficult for her to carry the harvest sacks, to the point that they get transportation to take her beans to the supply centers. Even so they continue on with their labors.

That's why, since they worked with loans, they have achieved a good coffee production for the improvement of their quality of life. This is her second loan; she appreciates the support that's offered to her and assures that she will be responsible with her payment requirements. She is an active member of her community bank.

With the 500 nuevos soles (PEN), she will buy fungicides for a good production from her coffee plants.
