A loan of $700 helped to buy more fish.

Bartolome's story

Bartolomé is 36 years old. He is a man who really wants to work and give his family a better quality of life. That is why he works. He lives with Monica, who is a housewife and the mother of his 2 children, whom he loves very much. Together they live comfortably in the home they own, which they bought with a lot of hard work. Bartolomé's activity is selling fresh fish that he buys early in the morning at the fishermen's port in town. He takes it to his sales spot at the central market, where he serves his customers very well, giving them the best products. He knows that this way, they will keep buying from him in the future.

He started this business more than 12 years ago, working as an assistant on fishing boats in the ports. Later, with his own capital, he decided to start his own business selling fish. So far, he works alone.

He considers his business to be profitable because it brings in good income and because he is good at business and he knows it well. Before starting his own business, his income as an assistance wasn't enough for the household expenses. Faced with this difficulty, he decided to open his own business. Now that he sees he keeps getting good results, he has plans to expand his business and ship his product to other cities in greater volume. He knows this way, he'll have more income.
This is loan number 5 with MFP. He is happy to know he has the financial support he needs to continue with hus plans. He also remarks that he likes the work his communal bank does because they support people with their businesses. With the amount of 1800 nuevos soles he has asked for, he will invest in buying fresh fish in greater volumes to ship to other cities, seeking more comfortable prices for his purchases in greater quantities.
