Justo

Bolivia
La Paz, Bolivia / Vehicle Repairs

A loan of $1,000 helped to buy paint, sandpaper and other supplies, for his business repairing and painting vehicles.

Justo's story

Justo is married, and has two school-aged children. They live in their in-laws' house, occupying a single small room with adobe walls and earth floor. The house is located in the Tembladerani area of the city of La Paz.

Currently, he works more than ten hours a day, doing all kinds of bodywork, and vehicle painting. He is the only one covering his family's expenses for education, food, and payment of basic services.

He needs the loan to buy paint and materials for carrying out his work in his auto body shop, as he wishes to improve his income.

Justo's dream is to get an "anticrético," in order to provide more comfort to his family and improve their quality of life.

This is the first time he has worked with IMPRO and Kiva.

As additional information, an "anticrético" is a legal agreement between the owner of a house or apartment and a potential tenant. It enables the latter to live in it for a period not greater than two years, in exchange for a sum of money delivered at the signing of the agreement, which will be returned at the termination of the agreement. This way, a tenant manages to save the money that they otherwise would have spent if they were to live in rented premises.
