A loan of $500 helped to pay expenses for maintaining his taxi.

Efrain's story

Efraín is single, and has a school-aged son. He lives in his parents' home, occupying a single, small room with brick walls and earth floor. The house is located in the Tembladerani area of the city of La Paz.

Currently, he works more than 10 hours a day and until late at night driving the the taxi that he owns. His must cover his family's expenses for education, food and payment of basic services.

He needs the loan for maintaining his vehicle. He wishes to replace some parts (air filter, brake pads), replace the brake fluid and do general maintenance, as this is the only source of work he has for supporting his family.

Efraín's dream is to improve his income in order to obtain a house through "anticrético" (lump-sum loan provided in exchange for housing tenure, where the loan must be paid back to the lender/occupant at the end of a specified period). This is in order to provide more comfort to his family, as he wishes to improve their quality of life.

This is the third time he has applied for a loan with IMPRO, and the first time with Kiva.
