A loan of $625 helped a member to buy fertilizer for farmland and vegetables for resale.

Ry's Group's story

Ry, a young 25-year-old mother of one little kid, is a citizen from Kror Kor district, Cambodia. To survive, she earns a daily income from her rice cultivation business as a primary income. To increase the family income, she also sells vegetables and her husband drives a motor taxi during his spare time. She has managed both of her businesses for seven years and is able to earn almost KHR 12,000 on average. Her main challenge is the drought, which lowers her yield. This cycle is a first loan cycle for Ry. She is the leader of her group consisting of three female members. One fellow group member is also a first-time borrower while the remaining one is a fourth-time borrower. She is requesting an amount with another co-member of KHR 1,000,000 each, while the remaining member is applying for KHR 500,000. She will use her loan portion to buy fertilizer in order to boost her yield. Moreover, she will use a portion of it to buy more vegetables for resale. She hopes to grow her rice fruitfully so as to double her income and maintain a good standard of living that is better than before.
