A loan of $750 helped a member to buy pesticides for protecting her cassava planting.

Ngorn's Group's story

A resident from a rural village in the Me Mot district of Kampong Cham province, Cambodia, Ngorn is a 49-year-old mother of seven children, five of whom are dependent on her and still in school. The main source of the family’s income is cassava growing, which she has been engaging in for 10 years.

Ngorn’s group consists of three members (one female and two males) who live in the same village. She is in her first loan cycle with VisionFund. Ngorn, who is the leader, will use her portion to buy pesticides for the cassava plantation and use a portion of it to spend on labor costs, as she will hire somebody to clear grass. Through this loan, Ngorn hopes her business is more profitable, and then, her family can live in a better condition.
