A loan of $400 helped to buy cereals, vegetables, and canned foods.

Michael's story

Twenty-one-year-old Michael is a responsible young man. He lives in a rented house with his girlfriend, twenty-year-old María, and his young, four-year-old son, John. Michael sells foods for the home; he runs his business out of the house he rents with his girlfriend. They started living together when they were very young and now they both have responsibilities. That is why they thought it would be a good idea to open their store, so they can make good profits from their day-to-day sales.

He started this work one year ago and they tell us that they are able to make good profits thanks to the neighbors who always visit their store. This is why he needs this loan; with it they will be able to restock the merchandise in their store. This is his first loan and he is satisfied because of the confidence it gives him. He promises to make his payments on time and not to make himself look bad in front of his communal bank members. With the 1,000 nuevos soles he will buy cereals, vegetables, and canned foods.
