A loan of $575 helped to buy more fish.

Bella's story

Bella, forty years old, is a woman with a great desire to get ahead and to support her family. She lives with Luis who is a tradesman and the father of her four children, for whom she strives to provide a better quality of life. They live together in their own house, which they bought with a great deal of effort. Bella works selling fresh fish, starting very early when she goes to the fishermen's port to buy her merchandise to sell at her stall in the city market. She serves her customers very amiably, as she knows that this way they will choose to keep doing business with her. She began more than 8 years ago with her own capital, which she invested in buying in small quantities. Later, seeing that her business received a good reception, she increased her sales. She considers her business to be quite profitable due to the good earnings that it brings her and the demand for the product, especially in times of scarcity when she increases her prices. She decided to start her business because she needed to help her partner with the household expenses and pay for her children's studies. Now, however, given the good results it has had, she wants to maintain and continue the business as it is her only source of income. This is her 13the loan with the MFP organization. She is requesting a small loan in order to achieve her objectives. On the other hand, she comments that she likes working with her communal bank because she considers it to be united and collaborative.
With the amount requested of 1500 nuevos soles, she will invest in buying her principal merchandise, which is fresh fish, searching for the best prices for her purchases in volume, so as to obtain the best profit margins.
