A loan of $775 helped to buy food preparation ingredients.

Francisca's story

Francisca, 52, is single due to widowhood. She lives with her daughter, grandson and son-in-law in the municipality of La Masica, Atlántida Department.

She started selling food from place to place 18 years ago aiming at earning income and support her family’s economy. Francisca makes and sells food in general but her specialty is making donuts, turnovers, ‘baleadas’ [flour tortilla filled with eggs, beans, etc.], tacos and hamburgers.

She’s requested a 15,000 Lempira loan to buy ingredients or raw materials to prepare her food. She hopes her sales will increase so that the business will grow. She’s also planning to set up a kiosk in a fixed locale to sell her food.
