A loan of $1,400 helped to purchase a milk cow.

Rusudan's story

Rusudan is from the Senaki district, West Georgia. She is 38 years old and lives with her husband and two grown sons (18 and 20 years old), both students. Rusudan works as a teacher and earns a monthly salary. The family is involved in an agricultural business. They own a plot of land where they grow nuts, maize and laurel leaves. They have a vineyard and produce wine and vodka and they also own 2 pigs. In addition, Rusudan runs a small dairy farm with two milk cows and 4 calves. She milks the cows twice a day and produces cheese. Rusudan sells all of her agricultural products at the Senaki open market. Rusudan’s husband gets wood from the forest and sells it in nearby villages.

Rusudan has applied for this loan to increase her number of cattle by purchasing a milk cow. This will allow Rusudan to receive more milk for her dairy and increase her sales. This will give her an opportunity to improve her family's living conditions and finance her sons' education.
