A loan of $775 helped to buy fabric and other supplies for making cloth napkins.

Juana's story

Juana is a member of the "Las Margaritas" communal bank in Coronel Portillo district, department of Ucayil. She is 69 years old, widowed, and has eight children. The only one of her children who still lives with her is not economically dependent on her.

It has been ten years since she started working with loans from Manuela Ramos. She is dedicated to making and knitting cloth napkins. With her new loan of 2,000.00 nuevos soles, she will buy: 10 meters of fabric for towels, a package of thread for weaving in various colors, a roll of lace, and 50 fabric roses.

Because of her health she has to spend a lot of time seated, so she takes advantage of this to knit her napkins and then give them finishing touches. She is grateful to Manuela Ramos for giving her the opportunity to keep working, thanks to these loans, despite her age. With other institutions, her age would be an obstacle.
