A loan of $350 helped to buy more inventory of sarongs, shoes, and bedsheets.

Mariam's story

Mariam, age 38, is a single mother taking care of her three children, ages 19, 15, and 13. For over a year, she has been working from 10am to 6pm daily, selling sarongs, shoes, and bedsheets door-to-door in order to make a living. From this business, she is able to make a monthly profit of about $25.

Mariam hopes for a loan to purchase more sarongs, shoes, and bedsheets to sell. She belongs to group Msimamo, whose members guarantee one another to pay back loans.
