A loan of $575 helped to buy vegetables, citrus fruits, pulses and other items to supply his business.

Magdaleno's story

Magdaleno is 37 years of age, and lives with his wife and three children in a neighborhood on the outskirts of Pedro Sula. For the past 12 years he has worked selling vegetables, citrus fruits, pulses and other items in a local market in the city. He sells lemons, cilantro, onion, beets, chayote, carrot and other products. He used to work farming basic grains and coffee, but as he needed to earn more income he decided to obtain a stall to sell vegetables. Magdaleno has requested a loan of 11,000 Honduran Lempiras, which he will use to buy more vegetables to supply his business and have higher sales. With this investment he will ensure availability to continue investing, as well as to cover the household expenses. In the future, Magdaleno would like to save to make improvements to his home.
