A loan of $1,550 helped to buy tons of sand and sawdust.

Rosalin's story

Rosalin is 28 years of age, and is a humble, hardworking woman. She lives with her parents and siblings in their own house. Since she was a young age, Rosalin’s main business has been focused on the manufacture of bricks in her parents’ factory, which is located in the upper part of the village. Every morning she goes to work on this manufacturing process.

Rosalin says “I have to prepare the earth, then fill the molds until I have 25,000, before taking them to the kiln to fire them at a maximum temperature until they’re ready”. She also mentions that, during the summer, she has to make the most of her time as this is the only way that she can ensure that she makes enough income each month. Once prepared, the bricks are sold in a local market, where Rosalin has regular customers who buy from her every week. Now she wants to work as much as possible, as she says it’s the summer season and she needs to make the most of her time.

Rosalin is part of the “Nuestro Banco” (our bank) communal bank, and this is her 12th loan from MFP. Over all this time she has shown herself to be a perseverant person, who really wants to work hard and get ahead in life. This is why she promises to be punctual when repaying her installments. Rosalin wants to invest the money in buying tons of sand and sawdust, which she will use in the brickmaking process.
