A loan of $975 helped to purchase 4 calves.

Blas's story

Blas is 49 years old. He lives with Dionicia with whom he has a 10-year-old son. This family lives together in their own home that Blas built with effort. Blas’ personality is friendly and diligent. He works in several activities such as: a car transportation service, agriculture, and stockbreeding.

Due to the natural pastures, his zone is favorable to the production of a variety of potatoes and to the breeding of animals such as sheep and cow. For these reasons, Blas works hard to improve his crop and his cattle.

“These coming months I will to work to raise cattle, because it sells well,” he said enthusiastically. He expects that he will buy each calf at 500, 600, 700 or 800 soles, depending on the size and breed. When he believes that his animals have reached the ideal size and weight he will take them to the city of Huancayo and offer them in cattle shows. This is Blas’ living.

This time he wants to continue to breed the animals and he needs help to purchase them. This is his tenth loan and he promises to be punctual in his monthly payments.

He is part of a community bank called “Mirando un future major” (Looking into a better future), where he enjoys the meetings and educational conversation.

Blas wants to purchase 4 calves at 600 soles each to raise and sell them.
