A loan of $575 helped to purchase clothing.

Yanina's story

Yanina is 27 years old and lives with her partner, Osvaldo, and two children, ages 11 and 7. For now, the family is living in a rented house. Yanina is a gentle mother and a determined woman, thanks to her sister. Yanina learned the clothing business from her sisters. For this reason, she travels regularly to Lima, where she acquires merchandise by dozens and hundreds.

She has been engaged in this business for five years, and she enjoys the work pace. Every fifteen days, she travels to the same clothing manufacturers’ stores and purchases garments such as pants, sweaters, dress coats, polo-neck shirts, and other items because her customers are placing more orders all the time. She sells her merchandise as a street vendor at the markets in the city of Tarma (Thursdays and Sundays), and earns good profits thanks to the regular customers that she has attracted throughout her years as a salesperson. She has plans for the future. One of them is to build a house in Tarma, and for this, she will continue working as she does now. This is her fourth loan with MFP and she pledges to be punctual with her monthly payments. She likes working in her communal bank, “Mirando un futuro Mejor” (Looking to a Better Future), because she enjoys the meetings and the educational talks. Yanina will use the entire amount of the loan to purchase clothing that she hopes to sell out by the end of the month.
