A loan of $1,000 helped a member to buy more food items for her snacks shop.


Sichana's Mtegemee Mola Group's story

Sichana, age 31, is a single mother with two children, ages 16 and 12. Three years ago, Sichana began her business of selling snacks, such as wheat porridge and breads, in order to make a living. She works from 7am to 3pm daily and is able to make a monthly profit of about $25.

Sichana hopes for a loan to purchase more food items for to make more snacks. She will share this loan with her subgroup, whose members belong to group Mtegemee Mola. These members guarantee one another to pay back loans.
