A loan of $500 helped selling drinks, groceries and firewood.

Margaret Bih's story

Margaret Bih is the mother of two boys and two girls. Her goal is to give her husband financial support to pay their children's tuition and provide at least two meals a day for her family. With two previous loans she provided corner store services to her community. She bought exercise books for her kids with profits from a loan of $130.

With a loan of $500, she plans to increase the stock in her store, especially items like kerosene, washing soap, palm oil, and magi-cubes. These items are requested daily in small quantities by a majority of community members whose other option is to travel tens of kilometers to buy from the central market at the urban center.

She plans to pay her loan in 18 months. The first repayment installment shall be made on the fourth month from the date of disbursement of the loan.
