Sary's Group's story

Sary, aged 38, is a villager from Battambang province's Sangke district. She is the mother of two children; one of whom is a student and the other is a paid worker. To fight for the family's hardship, she has been growing rice for ages, and her husband has been working at a construction site in Thailand. Having been in this business for 20 years, she is able to earn about KHR 24,000 and save about 5,000 KHR per day after deducting expenses. Sary is in the sixth cycle while her member is in the fourth cycle with Kiva partner, VisionFund. She has used her past loan wisely in managing her business well. She has paid back the entire loan. She is now leading a group of two female members. She is seeking KHR 400,000 whereas her member is applying for KHR 100,000. She will use her loan portion to buy rice seed and pay plowing fees. She hopes to stabilize her living condition and expand her business order to enlarge her income so as she can keep her children in school.
