Jay Mohaveer Self Help Group's story

Bini is a 50-year-old lady who has three children. The lady sitting in the middle, wearing a blue saree, is Bini. She lives in the Tangi village of Odisha, India, with her husband and her children. A few years back, she started a business making and selling flour, such as wheat flour, maize flour, gram flour, lentil flour, rice flour, etc. She makes these flours with the help of grinders. She makes a variety of flours depending on the demand for flour in the market.

Bini is requesting a loan of 216,000 Indian rupees (INR) to buy more supplies such as wheat, maize, grains, etc. With this investment, she will expand her business so that she can generate more income and improve the quality of life for herself and her family. She is in a group of 12 members, all women who live in the same community. They named their group "Jay Mohaveer Self Help Group" (named after Lord Mohaveer, who they believe will protect them). They are situated in the Khurda district of Odisha, India.
