A loan of $850 helped to buy food items.

Lora's story

Lora is 61 years old. She is a very hard-working woman.

After the death of her husband, Lora was left alone with 2 daughters. She searched for work in order to feed her family, but no one would hire her since she had only a high school education and no work experience. Lora began working in a cafe as a dishwasher. However, she couldn't afford to support her family on the low salary she received, and she had to ask for the customers' leftovers so that she could feed her kids.

Lora thought long and hard about how to solve this problem and eventually decided that the way to improve her family's welfare was to open her own business. For the past two years, Lora has been making a decent living because she now owns her own cafe.

As Tajikistan's Independence Day is approaching, Lora has come to IMON International for a loan to help her meet the holiday demand. She plans to expand her cafe offerings by increasing the range of dishes she sells. This will require the purchase of more food items.

Lora is grateful to the kind lenders of Kiva for supporting her in her business.
