A loan of $1,200 helped to buy natural products.

Zoila Teresita's story

Every two weeks, the members of the Desarrollo Femenino community bank meet in Calderón parish, in the city of Portoviejo. This area is known for its delicious cuisine and its vegetation. Most of the local people work in farming and general commerce.

This is where Zoila lives. Zoila is 66 years old, married, and has six children from her marriage who are all adults. One of them still lives with her. Her husband is retired and Zoila has a degree in Natural Health Sciences.

Zoila sells natural products in order to provide for herself and help with the household expenses. She carries out therapeutic procedures for people who need her services. She also sells products which she claims are very good for people's health. For this reason, she has a very good customer base who ask her to carry out her therapeutic services every month and sell them her products. She works every day. Zoila has been in this business for more than six years and she is doing very well.

Zoila will use this loan to buy natural products that she sells and uses in her therapies. She has been a member of her community bank since the beginning and she is the rule enforcer. She likes being a member because it is a very united group.

Zoila's goal is to continue offering her services as she loves what she does.
