A loan of $200 helped to purchase five sacks of seed potatoes.

Dedicacion's story

Dedicación is 46 years old and a widow. She has five daughters but only lives with the youngest, 20 years old, in her own home, which she built years ago with her husband. Dedicación is a sweet mother and a hardworking woman. She farms her own land in the area where she produces different varieties of potatoes, especially colored and floury potatoes. She also cultivates “ollucos” (an Andean tuber). “Since I was able to save enough from farming, I also started another business selling cattle,” she says. Every Thursday and Sunday, she sacrifices two heads of sheep and sells the meat at markets in her district. With regard to farming, Dedicación sells her harvests in her own district and in the city of Tarma. She now plans to plant five sacks of seed potatoes and needs your support. This is her fourteenth loan from MFP and she is grateful for the opportunity to get ahead. She promises to be punctual in making her payments. She also mentions that she feels pleased and supported by the members of her communal bank, “Mirando un Futuro Mejor.” With the money, she will be able to buy five sacks of seed potatoes to start planting,
