Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $650 helped to buy stationery, notebooks and other supplies.

Sheyla Lissette's story

22-year-old Sheyla is single and doesn't have any children. She started her business five years ago with a small display case and a stand, selling stationery. Sheyla studies at university in the mornings so her stationery store is closed in the mornings. She opens for her customers in the afternoons.

Sheyla's business is a store selling miscellaneous items and stationery where she offers ring binding and binding services, and sells books. She would like to use this loan to buy stationery, notebooks and supplies. Sheyla's dreams are to finish her degree, for her business to grow, and for her family to remain united.
