A loan of $400 helped to pay for construction costs for part of her home where she lives as the provider for her two small children and to buy a small stove, glasses and containers for the sale of her beverages.

Rosaura's story

Rosaura is 36 years old. She lives in the city of Cañete, in the district of Imperial with her two small children, whom she loves and they are her reason for being. Unfortunately for various reasons she separated from her husband, and since then she dedicates all her efforts to raising her family. She is a very kind, hardworking, and enthusiastic person.

With a lot of effort and enthusiasm Rosaura began her small business three years ago selling beverages, every day beginning work in the early morning hours, she travels the city markets selling various drinks such as chicha (a common sweet drink made from purple corn), barley, and passion fruit and during winter she sells hot drinks. She can work approximately ten hours daily and she believes that things are going well because of her dedication and because of the friendly service she provides her customers.

Rosaura is a grateful Kiva borrower because thanks to the help she will be able to construct her home, and also she can buy a small stove, glasses, and containers for the sale of her beverages. In this way Rosaura will have what she needs to continue working and to have a part of her house built, as she lives in it with her children, as well as continuing to work and push herself in order to achieve her big dream of having her own restaurant and to see her children become good professionals and good men.
