Dasarathi's story

Dasarathi is a 23-year-old physically challenged person living with his parents, his grandmother and his younger sister, aged 20, in a village of Odisha.

He has a variety shop in his home. He sells, incense sticks, soap, shampoo, mouth refresher and vegetables (parwal, brinjal, cabbage, cauliflower, ladies finger, cucumber, tomato, bitter gourd, etc.) in his shop. He has been involved in this activity for six months. He purchases the vegetables twice a week from the local market, which is nine kilometers from his village. He earns 1,500 to 2,000 INR per month from his business. The village people are benefited by purchasing vegetables at their village.

He wants to add some new product lines (tooth paste, tooth brushes, toffees, biscuits, potatoes, onions, etc.) for his shop. He has requested a loan of 20,000 INR to purchase the above products so that he can meet his customers' demands and he can earn 3,000 to 4,000 INR in a month from this business. He has a dream to make a house for his family and pay for his sister’s marriage.
