A loan of $400 helped to buy food for the pigs.

Kristel Kimberli's story

Kristel is a very enthusiastic and hard-working young woman. She lives in Camaná, a city characterized by its hot climate, beautiful beaches, and exquisite shrimp. Because of this, one of her favorite dishes is the delicious Chupe de Camarones (a Peruvian shrimp chowder). She has a 2-year-old son whom she loves very much and he is the driving force in her life. She works very hard to move him forward and so that he can be better off than her. Kristel could only study up through the fifth level of secondary school, but she would have liked to study nursing.

She got her business raising and selling pigs with a lot of effort. She dedicates about 12 hours a day to her work. She likes her work and she wakes up very early to clean the place where the piglets live and eat, and also to feed them. She believes the business is going well for her because she is very friendly to her customers and raises the animals properly, and for this reason, her customers have confidence in what she offers.

Kristel is very grateful to the Kiva lenders, because this is the second time that they have helped her and thanks to this, she will be able to buy food for her pigs, like rice-based feed and bran among others. She will be able to increase her income in order to keep fighting everyday for her greatest dream: keep growing her business and give her son a good education.
