Luisa Solanda's story

The Umiña communal bank meets every 15 days in the Umiña neighborhood of the city of Manta. Manta is a city known for its beautiful beaches, its gastronomy and for being one of the most important ports in the country and in the Americas, located on the shores of the Pacific.

Luisa who is 48, lives in this area, she married several years ago but she has not yet been able to have children. She has been part of the communal bank for more than seven years, and she likes it because of the help which the entity has always given her.

To get ahead in life, Luisa works in sales along with her husband. She sells all types of clothes, handbags, jewelry among other products. She has small shop in the city center. Her husband also works in the area surround the sales location selling fruit and vegetables, with both of them working every day. Luisa loves her business as she can always rely on her beloved husband's company, and when one of them isn't around, the other runs the two businesses. They have spent more than 10 years dedicated to trade and it has always gone well for them.

This loan is to buy clothes, handbags, jewelry and part for her husband to use buying fruit and vegetables. Luisa's dream is to own her own premises as the one on which they are selling belongs to her father-in-law.
