Nicaragua
Managua, Nicaragua / Personal Housing Expenses

A loan of $350 helped to purchase sheet metal, support beams, and screws for fixing her roof.

Maria Eugenia's story

María Eugenia is a young woman of 25 and a single mother of two daughters currently students.

She has worked as a waitress in a restaurant. She has been through some difficulties with her daughters when they get sick, as she doesn't have any help from the father, but she has kept moving on.

Her house is simple, with wooden boards and metal sheeting, but it is her own. She has wanted to improve them, but she hasn't had enough money to be able to do it, since she has to cover the costs of food, basic expenses, school, medicine, and fares.

It is through the loan that she’s requesting to change her sheet metal, as it’s gone bad from holes and the water is coming through in this winter season. She is glad to be able to make this change that is being made possible only through AFODENIC. The materials to buy are: ten metal sheets, six support beams and screws to make the improvement, and to be in better living and hygienic conditions.
