Doña María is 56 years old, married, and has six children. Her husband works as a principal at an elementary school. They live southeast of San Pedro Sula.

María studied cosmetology and dreamed of establishing her own beauty salon. With the help of her husband, she accomplished her goal. María has been in business for 10 years and has done very well. She manages her business every day and works 12 hours each day. Her business has grown and now has many customers and an assortment of products.

She is requesting her second loan from ODEF in the amount of 15,000 HNL. The money will be used to buy products that she needs for her salon so that she can perform her work such as dyes, nail polishes, shampoo, crèmes, make-up, and other supplies. Her dream is to grow her business and become recognized. This will enable her to generate income so that she can provide for her children’s college education.
