A loan of $450 helped to pay for purchasing betel, packaged foods (like biscuits, cakes, etc.), detergent, shampoo, fashion accessories and a refrigerator for cooling soft drinks in his variety store.

Sanjaya Kumar's story

Sanjaya Kumar is a physically challenged person aged 30. He lives with his parents, 3 brothers, his wife aged 28 and his only son aged 2 years. Sanjaya has been managing a variety shop for 12 years in his village. His shop is 800 metres from his home. His brothers are helping him to purchase the goods for his variety shop. He sells betel, packaged food (like biscuits, cakes, etc.), soaps of different brands, detergent, shampoo and fashion accessories (like talc powder, face wash, body lotion, etc.). Because his is the only variety shop in his village all the villagers are depending on his shop, but he cannot meet the customers' demand.

Sanjaya requested a loan of 25,000 INR to purchase a refrigerator so he can sell cooled soft drinks and to add some goods in different brands from what he sells now. And he wants to add some new varieties of products like cooking oil, lentils, noodles, etc. He hopes to make his family happy and provide better education by sending his son to a good school.
