Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Souma's story

Souma is a 39-year-old married woman and mother of three children. She opened a grocery store in 2007 to help her husband in making their living and providing their children with the best education.

Souma is a hard worker with a very good reputation. She seeks perfection and makes sure that her customers are pleased and satisfied.

Souma applied for a loan from Kiva partner Al Majmoua, for the first time, in order to increase her business merchandise with special discount products such as fruits, vegetables, and drinks.

Souma is planning to turn her store to a larger supermarket in the future.
