A loan of $1,125 helped a member to buy pig feed.

Sagitario Group's story

Greetings from Peru!

The “Sagitario” (Sagittarius) communal bank has 7 members who are starting their 8th cycle. One of the members is Antonia who raises pigs. Antonia has vast experience in this line of work; she started 19 years ago.

The area she lives in is rural and there are many ‘chancherías’ there. Chancherías are places where pigs are raised. Because Antonia does not have enough space at home, she rents space in a chanchería to raise her pigs in. She sells them after three or four months.

Antonia will use her loan to buy nutritionally balanced feed for her pits and she’s very happy to have gotten it. Antonia is married and lives with her husband and son. She is the woman who speaks in the video. She’s in the center of the first row. Antonia is grateful for the support provided.
