A loan of $1,150 helped to buy fertilizer that will help him increase his crop production and also to hire temporary workers.

Francisco Javier's story

Francisco lives in his own house with his wife and two children. He has been growing coffee since he was twelve. His father taught him everything about growing coffee and that is why he is doing it today. The land that he owns he inherited from his father. This is the time of year the plants flower. He works at temporary jobs until the harvest season. Francisco knows that his land needs fertilizer in order to increase its production. Also he needs to prune and thin the crops so that they are tidy for the harvest. In order to achieve his goals he is asking for this loan to buy fertilizer and to pay the temporary workers that he hires. If he receives this loan he will have a better harvest and a greater quantity of crops. This will give him a greater income so that he can reach his dream of remodeling his home and providing his children with an education.
