A loan of $200 helped to buy more essential items.

Agustina's story

Agustina, 60, is a widow who lives with her two grown children in the house she bought with her husband. She is a merchant and owns a small store where she sells vegetables, rice, sugar, grains, canned goods, and other items. She started the business 15 years ago, and sales have always been good. Her children help out on days when she needs them. What she likes best about her business is that she feels it can continue without much strain on her. However, her biggest concern is not having the items most of her customers request.

She will be able to buy some of the merchandise she needs with this loan. Her business income pays for her children's education. This is her first loan cycle, and she is happy to have financial support. She promises to make her payments on time and to remain in good standing with her group. With the 500 nuevos soles, she will buy a sack of rice and some vegetables, which are the main food items her customers need.
