A loan of $775 helped buy sheep.

Marleny's story

36-year old Marleny is a responsible young woman. She lives with her parents and siblings whom she looks after in her parents’ house. She has lived there since she was born. Her only responsibility is to keep her parents well cared-for. So she works without days off buying and selling lambs which are her specialty.

She travels into the high country where the animals are raised to buy from the farmers there. Then she transports them to the town where she sells them at various markets in the valley. All is going well with the work so Marleny feels content since she started doing this as a young woman. Every year she gets more customers and therefore earns more money. She earns the most in the months of March to September when the local people get ready for the festive season commemorating their animals.

Now Marleny wishes to put her business on a stronger footing. She belongs to the Chilca Group and this is her seventh loan with MFP. She is very grateful for this financial support since it helps her with her business. She promises to repay the money according to the schedule. She is also pleased to be part of her group as all the members are responsible and committed.

Marleny will use the money to buy sheep for her business.
