A loan of $775 helped buy sheep.

Evarista's story

51-year old Evarista is a responsible woman who lives her son Maycol whom she looks after in her own home located in the Chilca neighbourhood. Her courage is admirable; alone she brought up three children, two of whom have already left home and have children of their own. They watch out for their mother and make sure she has peace of mind. Evaristo continues to care for one son whom she loves very much.

Every day from Monday to Friday she works in a mine in the high part of the city. The mine produces gold, silver, and copper. She earns good money for her work which allows her to cover household expenses. Often times she washes the waste from the mine and extracts tiny bits of gold and silver which she sells to the jewellers in town to earn extra money. However, as she doesn’t always have money from this activity she started a small business buying and selling sheep and grain which she sells in the capital city at weekends when she is off work.
Evarista belongs to the Chilca Group and this is her seventh loan with MFP. She is very grateful for this financial support since it helps her with her business. She promises to repay the money according to the schedule. She is also pleased to be part of her group as all the members are responsible and committed.

She will use the money to buy sheep and improve her business.
