A loan of $200 helped to buy agricultural land.

Delia's story

Delia is 39 year of age, and leads a simple life. She lives with her husband and five children, and she looks after them in the house she inherited from her mother 20 years ago.

Delia’s mornings are hectic, as she has to take her eight cows for feeding before milking them, and then selling the milk very early to a company that processes milk in bottles. Each day she sells an average of 15 liters, and she has worked in this area for 15 years. Her secret is that she works in harmony with the land, and shares her time between growing pasture and corn. She sows these crops on her own land and rented land, and hopes to soon be able to buy more land and not have to rent any.

Delia is now awaiting harvest time anxiously, so that she can obtain income and continue sowing crops, as this is the only business she has. This is her ninth loan with MFP, and she is thankful for the help she has received, as it has allowed her to continue investing in moving her business forward. She also promises to make her repayments on time. She plans to invest the money by adding it to her savings to buy another plot of agricultural land, which will allow her to sow more.
