A loan of $2,400 helped to renew her work area and buy an overlock machine and a table for ironing.

Aisha's story

Aisha is kind Iraqi woman who gave a warm welcome to her home for the loan team visiting her. She is 57 years old and has 3 children living with her and her husband. With limited career options due to cultural restrictions and domestic constraints, Aisha is one of the many Iraqi woman who is working from home, using her sewing skills to generate some income and participate in meeting the financial needs of her family.

She has 12 years experience with the small home-based sewing and tailoring business and has earned a good reputation with her basic but great quality services. She would like to improve her work and offer more to her customers. She would like to renew her work area, buy an overlock machine, and a table for ironing.

To be able to pay for these purchases she took a loan from Relief International Microfinance Iraq in the amount of 2400 USD.
