A loan of $975 helped to buy "basin" fabrics, boubous, shoes, and corn.

Dédé's story

A pastor's wife, Dédé, age 48, is the mother of four school-attending children. The eldest is 21, the youngest is 13 years old.

In order to help her husband with the household expenses, she's been selling, since 2003, "basin" fabrics, boubous, shoes, and porridge, at her home and as a traveling saleswoman.

She wants to sustain her business, and for this reason, she's seeking a third loan from Kiva's partner, WAGES, in order to buy "basin" fabrics, shoes, and corn (to make porridge).

With her profits, she intends to increase her working capital, get a ready-to-wear shop, and ensure all her children can attend school.
