Sokhoun's Group's story

Sokhoun is a villager from a rural area located in the Thmor Koul district of Battambang province, Cambodia. She is 24 years old. She has two dependent daughters, all of whom are still in school. To support her family, she has been farming rice for seven years and supplementing her income by selling grocery items. Drought is the main challenge for her business. Sokhoun has been with VisionFund for five cycles and completely paid back the previous loans. The other member is in her first cycle with VisionFund. Sokhoun is leading her group of two to apply for a loan. As the leader, she is going to use her portion to buy pesticides for protecting her crop yield. She hopes this loan will enable her to make her crop yield more productive and earn more income so as to improve her living conditions.
