Thomas's story

Thomas is a forty five year old hardworking man who has six children. He lives in Kamwenge, Uganda. He has personal goals of educating his children and building a permanent home. He is currently living in a house made out of reeds. Thomas operates a retail shop. He started with 500,000 shillings and currently, his business is worth 2,000,000 shillings. His main hardships are price fluctuation and inadequate capital to meet the increasing demands. Thomas would like to diversify into farming by venturing into mechanized agriculture and owning a wholesale shop. He intends to use the loan to buy soap, sugar and other items to sell.
