Dalias Group
In this Group: Minerva, Hilda, Rosario, Adilene, Norma
Adilene is part of the group called Dalias. The name Dalias comes from the fact that the area where they gather has beautiful dahlias. She is a single 20 year-old who studied in beauty school. She says that the people of her hometown go to her to get their hair cut. She also knows how to do highlights, manicures, pedicures, prepare brides, quinceaneras, and much more.

She has been practicing her beauty business for the last two years and in the evenings she sells hamburgers outside of her home. She started this business three years ago to improve her quality of life and to make her own money. She lives with her parents and contributes to the expenses of her grade school brothers so they can have what they need and are able to focus on their studies.

She is seeking a loan from Vision Fund to purchase meat and vegetables like tomatos, onions, pickled peppers, lettuce etc. She says that she placed her food stand outside of her home because her mother has a little store where people purchase beverages or bottled water.

She is grateful that they have trusted her with a loan and she does not expect to default as this is a great help in growing her business. The other members of this group are Minerva, Hilda, Rosario, and Norma. They invested their loans in businesses like a grocery store, handmade embroidered products, and mexican treats.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
