Hipolita Del Socorro's story

Hipólita is originally from the Asidades region. She is 52 years old, married with three children. She is a merchant, she works selling every-day products in a small store that she owns, and has done so for 20 years. She began by asking for loans from several institutions in order to invest in some of her best-selling products such as basic grains, oil, and milk, among others. This is how she created her own business located in her house and says that, since that day, it has gone very well. In order invest more in her home, she sells junkets. She has plans to increase the size of her business with new products in order to offer her clients more variety. She is asking for a loan from Kiva in order buy rice, beans, sugar, oil, soda, soap, and candy, products that sell very well and will help her to create more income because she will have more inventory to offer. After this she finishes paying off this loan, she means to ask for another in order to continue investing in her business. In this manner, her store will become more diverse.
